Indy won another one

January 29th, 2001

12 years have past since the last movie but Indian Jones still beats them all. In a recent survey by Britain's Total Film magazine Indy gets another first place for his personal record.

Thanks to the magazine's editor Matt Mueller we now know that "Indiana Jones won by a massive margin, not just because Harrison Ford is as handsome as they come but because he's a boys' own hero for a generation who like their idols to be a smart as well as sexy." Aha.

Two more interesting facts of the ranking are: Indy beats James Bond any time no matter how many Bonds and films they do and Harrison Ford has again placed two characters in the top 10. One thing I never understand is how this Maximus guy got into the ranking: Gladiator was nothing more than an average film, I can barlely remember it any more...

Top ten heroes
1. Indiana Jones
2. James Bond
3. Maximus (Gladiator)
4. John McClane (Die Hard)
5. Ellen Ripley (Alien)
6. Han Solo (Star Wars)
7. Thomas "Neo" Anderson (The Matrix)
8. William Wallace (Braveheart)
9. Leon (Leon)
10. Rick Blaine (Casablanca)

The voting goes on - on the CNN page reporting the article: Place your vote now, so far Indy hold 53% of the votes as the top film hero :)
